PRODUCTS - PERSONNEL PROTECTIONTUNGSTEN SYRINGE SHIELDS WITH TWIST LOCK A range of high quality tungsten shields primarily designed to reduce finger dose when injecting radionuclides. The syringe is placed in the shield with a twist lock. The shields are available in four diameters (1cc, 2-3cc, 5cc & 10cc) with a choice of length to suit different manufacturers' syringes complete with needle and quard. The body of the shield is made from tungsten alloy with a wall thickness of 2 mm giving a reduction factor greater than 200 when dispensing Technetium 99m. A clear view of the syringe is accessed through the lead glass window and is aided by the internal yellow coating of the barrel. The window provides comparable gamma attenuation to the tungsten barrel.
